Food Security Education Project (FSEP)
Undergraduate Scholarships
The Food Security Education Project (FSEP) is a non-profit charitable foundation based in Colorado, USA. FSEP supports food security in Nepal by investing in the education of promising students pursuing degrees in agricultural and related food security sciences at in-country institutions. Through its scholarship program, FSEP seeks to help develop the next generation of professionals who will contribute to improving agricultural productivity, nutrition, sustainability, and rural livelihoods in Nepal. Previous scholarship awardees were announced in 2025 and 2026, and profiles of each of our supported scholars can be found on our FSEP Scholars page.
The Food Security Education Project (FSEP) is pleased to announce that scholarship applications for 2026-2027 will be accepted beginning September 1, 2026. FSEP scholarships will cover university tuition and fees and modest subsistence expenses for undergraduate college students in the agricultural and food security sciences who intend to work in Nepal upon completion of their degrees.
Scholarship applications will only be accepted using the form below from students who have taken the entrance exam and have been admitted by a university in Nepal. Applications must be completed in English and submitted no later than September 21, 2026 to ensure full consideration for a scholarship. Initial evaluation of applications will be based on the academic record, financial need, and expressed career goals of the applicants.
By November 1, 2026 the FSEP Scholarship Committee will invite a short list of applicants to participate in phone interviews. We hope to notify scholarship awardees by the end of November, 2026. Awardees will be asked to sign an agreement that outlines requirements for accepting the award (see example here), including maintenance of a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submission of a written report at the end of each semester to remain in good standing for the duration of the B.Sc. scholarship.
