Food Security Education Project (FSEP)
On-Line Scholarship Application
Undergraduate Students - 2026
The Food Security Education Project (FSEP) is a non-profit charitable foundation based in Colorado, USA. It supports food security in Nepal by investing in the education of promising students in agricultural and related food security sciences at in-country institutions. The first cohort of FSEP scholarship recipients was announced in early 2025 (click to see scholar profiles).
On November 1, 2025, FSEP opened the online application process for its second cohort of food security scholars. The application period closed on December 31, 2025, at which time the FSEP Scholarship Committee began a careful and comprehensive review of all submitted applications. We are grateful for the strong interest shown by students across Nepal and for the time and effort applicants invested in preparing their materials.
With additional input from partners at key Nepali institutions, the FSEP Scholarship Committee expects by mid-February 2026 to invite a short list of applicants to submit a personal narrative and the contact information of a non-family reference who can comment on the applicant’s academic preparation and ability to successfully complete an undergraduate degree program. This second stage allows us to better understand each candidate’s goals, motivation, and potential for long-term impact in food security-related fields.
We anticipate completing the second stage of the screening process by April 2026 and notifying successful scholarship recipients shortly thereafter. Selected scholars will be asked to sign an agreement outlining the requirements for accepting the award. These include maintaining a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and submitting a brief written report at the end of each academic semester in order to remain in good standing for the duration of the B.Sc. scholarship.
Looking ahead, FSEP hopes to open another scholarship application cycle by late 2026. Our ability to do so, and to expand the number of students we support, depends directly on the availability of donor funding. We invite individuals and organizations who share our commitment to strengthening food security in Nepal through education to consider supporting future scholarship cohorts. Online donations may be made on our Support Us page.
Please email us at contact@foodsecurityed.org if questions arise or if you would like more information about FSEP’s scholarship program or ways that you can support it.
