Food Security Education Project (FSEP)
Undergraduate Scholarships
The Food Security Education Project (FSEP) is a non-profit charitable foundation based in Colorado, USA. FSEP supports food security in Nepal by investing in the education of promising students pursuing degrees in agricultural and related food security sciences at in-country institutions. Through its scholarship program, FSEP seeks to help develop the next generation of professionals who will contribute to improving agricultural productivity, nutrition, sustainability, and rural livelihoods in Nepal.
FSEP has successfully completed scholarship application and selection cycles in both 2025 and 2026, supporting undergraduate students from across Nepal who demonstrated strong academic potential, leadership qualities, and a commitment to contributing to food security in their communities. Selected scholars receive financial support to pursue undergraduate studies while maintaining academic standards and participating in periodic progress reporting throughout their degree programs. Profiles of each of our supported scholars can be found on our FSEP Scholars page.
The FSEP scholarship selection process is designed to be careful, transparent, and comprehensive. Applications are reviewed by the FSEP Scholarship Committee, with additional input from partner institutions in Nepal. Depending on the stage of the review process, shortlisted applicants may be asked to provide additional materials, including personal statements and references, to help the committee better understand each student’s academic preparation, motivation, and long-term goals related to food security and agricultural development.
FSEP plans to open another scholarship application cycle in late 2026. Future scholarship opportunities, including the number of students supported, depend directly on the availability of donor funding. We are deeply grateful to the individuals and organizations whose support makes these educational opportunities possible and helps strengthen food security in Nepal through education. Individuals and organizations interested in supporting future scholarship cohorts may make an online contribution through our Support Us page.
Please email us at contact@foodsecurityed.org if you have questions or would like more information about FSEP’s scholarship program or ways to support future scholarship cohorts.
