Sandesh is from Arghakhanchi District of Lumbini Province in western Nepal. He is currently enrolled in a B.Sc. Ag program at Agriculture and Forestry University in Chitwan, where his interests include plant breeding, horticulture, soil science and ecology. He has the career goal of completing a doctoral degree. At this early stage Sandesh and colleagues have initiated research trials on yield improvement of onion. He is from a family of four, with both of his parents blind, and has faced many economic barriers to his education.
