Her research interests span agribusiness, gender, and food and nutritional security. Her PhD project, "Food Supply Chain Performance and Food and Nutritional Security among Marginalized Caste Communities in Madhesh Province, Nepal", examines why marginalized communities in this agriculturally productive province continue to face persistent food and nutritional deficits despite the region's overall agricultural output. As an FSEP-supported scholar, Ms. Wasti is committed to generating evidence that informs policies and programs for more inclusive and sustainable agricultural development in Nepal. Ms. Wasti's graduate advisor is Professor Dr. Shiva Chandra Dhakal.
